Cake Bake 2018, September 27th
In May 2017 we ran a “Cake Bake” at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. In addition to rasing funds we were able to increase the awareness of Ataxia among staff and visitors to the hospital. What was particularly gratifying was that we were asked if this could become a regular event. Responding to the request for it becoming a regular event, we held our 3rd “Cake Bake” on Thursday 27th September at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Queen Square. We chose Thursday 27 September as the Ataxia Clinic runs on Thursdays, and the 27th was two days after International Ataxia Awareness Day. Tony battled the traffic into London to safely deliver cakes, only 1hour 50mins from Stanmore to the hospital! However, it was very worth while, as we collected over £214 pounds for our cakes and were able to raise awareness of Ataxia. Our thanks to all who made and donated cakes and who helped on our stand at the hospital.
