On the 18th April 2009 Tina Thatcher of Ataxia UK helped Deanna kick off the first meeting of the Ataxia UK NW London Support Group. To celebrate 10 years of Ataxia UK NW London, we held a celebratory afternoon high tea. We had a really interesting speaker, Elaine McGregor, who has an MA in Music Therapy. She shared with us the work she has been doing with Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy, the largest independent music therapy charity in the UK. So we could really understand first hand what music therapy is she brought along a range of instruments with her so we ended up making lots of noise and having fun! As you can see by the pictures we really had a great time.
Following our music making we had a great high tea with loads of yummy sandwiches, tasty wraps, scones, with jam & cream, and mini dessert cakes. As we tend to do, we over catered a little but no one went away hungry!
Well done and thanks to all involved in making the afternoon so successful.
